The difference is mainly in the layout of the keys and the adjustable bridge mechanism. I believe the Concerto is more common than the Opus because they seem to sell more of them than the Opus.

I recently signed onto the Clarinet BBoard at www.woodwind.org to ask advice about a metal Selmer clarinet I'm having trouble with. I was pleased to find quite a bit of helpful and friendly advice, freely given to a newbie. While there, I happened in on another discussion.Author: David Spiegelthal ★2017 Date: 2012-04-13 01:30 Ted Ridenour (Tom's son) was kind enough to send me, free of obligation, the latest version of the Ridenour "Lyrique" low-C bass clarinet to try out.Author: donald Date: 2022-08-11 14:28 I have a 1963 R13 that has definitely NOT "blown out" and still plays amazingly despite seriously worn keys, but have also owned a 2004 Festival A clarinet that, despite the best tech work and adjustments etc, definitely "blew out" (ie the dimensions changed in a way that compromised performance).Slight side note - the YCL-64 introduced in the '90s was a new model introduced to fill a gap in their lineup which sat in between the 34II and CX models and was in the same price range as the Buffet E13, Leblanc Esprit and Selmer Prologue. It became the YCL-650 (Bb) and for a short while, the YCL-650-A A clarinet which has been discontinued.The tuning on this instrument is excellent, and can blend very well. The clarinet is very in tune in the clarion and altimisso register, and as others have noted before, thrives in this upper range. It does run a hair sharp in the lower clarion register most notably A and G, but low E is in tune.
One fun fact to consider is that all woodwinds (to my knowledge) operate on the left is top, right is bottom. So it would be a little strange if the clarinet was the only one in inversion. In my own playing I haven't noticed any significant advantages or struggles of playing the clarinet with a left hand dominance. IMHO, a lot of works written later in this century are more accessable to even trained ears as shorter works or works written in short movements. I think of Hillandale Waltzes of Babin, Lutaslawski Dance Preludes Stavinski Three Pieces, and multitudes of other SHORTER works (clarinet [& piano], I know).

On clarinet bodies this is the method: Strip off all the keywork. Its not necessary to remove posts or body rings. Wash the body parts in slightly warmed water using common dishwashing detergent and a soft brush. Allow to air-dry and then wash again in alcohol. I use isopropyl alcohol.

Schumann published them alternatively for clarinet or cello, and there are many very fine cello performances -- maybe more than there are on clarinet. They are written for A clarinet, but the first piece in particular is often transposed on Bb, to avoid a single nasty slur -- the one from top line F up to C# and then down to C.

It preceded the Series 10. As I understand it, the Series 9 was a large bore design in comparison to the current Buffets and Leblancs and so it will have quite different playing characteristics as a result. The Clarinet BBoard. I need to tighten a loose pillar on a wooden B & H Emperor clarinet. It is the upper pillar (with spring) accommadating the F# alternate key (lower joint). The problem is that although the pillar is loose it will not unscrew. It spins with little pressure both clockwise and anti-clockwise.The Krass has a dark tone at the low end and gets brighter at the high end with a little buzz to the tone. Buzz can be controled with the selection of brand of reed. I found that high register very easy to play on the Krass. Reeds are like Ice cream. Everybody likes a different flavor.The Clarinet BBoard. I suggest M13 Lyre (there’s a difference between M13 and M13 Lyre). Another thing to keep in mind, idea reed strength CAN change based on the mouthpiece.
